The Cartboy is a micro retro gaming handheld released in 2020 by Gamebox Systems. It is built around the Broadcom BCM2835 (Raspberry Pi Zero) with 512 MB DDR, has a 1.3 inch TFT 240 x 240 display, and uses a 1200 mAh battery. Its documented emulation ceiling is GENESIS full speed, placing it in the mid-range tier for retro game emulation.
How far can it go?
Runs everything up to Genesis / Mega Drive at full speed, and pushes as far as PlayStation 1 with some compromises.
Realistic ceiling: Most SNES runs at 60 FPS but lags with FX & Mode 7 games, most 2D PS1 runs fine (not all at full 60 FPS) but lags with 3D games
