Sudachi is an open-source standalone emulator developed by jarrodnorwell. It is primarily designed to emulate Nintendo Switch on Android, Windows, Linux, iOS.

Architecture & Technical Design

Sudachi emerged in 2024 to continue Switch emulation for mobile and desktop devices. Built upon the foundation of Yuzu, Sudachi focuses on Native Code Execution (NCE): because the Nintendo Switch utilizes an ARM Cortex CPU, Android handhelds can execute ARM64 Switch game code natively without dynamic instruction translation. The primary technical hurdle lies in translating Nvidia Maxwell GPU calls to Vulkan, which requires modern silicon and custom Mesa Turnip drivers on Qualcomm Adreno devices.

Key settings for balancing framerate, visual fidelity, and battery efficiency on mobile processors:

SettingRecommended ValueTechnical Impact & Advice
Custom GPU DriverMesa Turnip Driver (on Adreno GPUs)Vital for eliminating graphic glitches and crashes on Snapdragon hardware.
CPU AccuracyAuto / UnsafeAllows NCE dynarec to execute ARM64 switch binaries directly on the host CPU.
Memory Layout4 GB or 6 GB / 8 GB (Extended)Prevents out-of-memory crashes on memory-heavy Switch titles.

Capable Handheld Hardware

Based on our database benchmarks across 575 handhelds, 91 devices have the CPU IPC, GPU fillrate, and memory bandwidth to run systems emulated by Sudachi at Grade A (full speed) or Grade B (great):
